- Homecoming - BHS beat Fairmont West 7-0 on Oct. 13, 1978
- Homecoming Court - Michele Antolini, Julie Seaman (Homecoming Queen), Mary Knapschaefer, Jill Hampton, Carol Kneubuel, Lori Fisher
- Dan Weaver was the "King of Hearts" for the Valentine Dance!
- Prom - "Come Sail Away" was the theme for the Jr./Sr. Prom held at Eastgate Court House on May 19, 1979. Southtowne Wind provided the music. The King & Queen of the Prom were Scott Phillips and Sharon Patterson. Attendants included: Mark Wilson, Kay Standley, Dan Weaver, Michele Antolini, Jeff Wilson, Pam Yankowski, Dave McIntire, and Beth Sternberger. After prom was held at the Xenia YMCA.
- "For Sale" and "Office Space for Rent" signs adorning the front lawn of the high school!
- Gong Show was held on November 16, 1978 with MC, Mr. Stahl. Judges included: Vic Csasano, Art Brown, Gil Whitney and Claudia (radio personality). First place went to "King Tut"!! Haze took second place and the Juvenile Delinquents took third!
- Graduation was held at University of Dayton arena on May 27, 1979. Valedictorian, Gary Franzen, and Salutatorian, Lee Ann Brislawn, gave speeches and Jeff Turner and Susie Bouchard sang our class song "Mahogany".
- The Boys Varsity, Girls Varsity and reserves of Cross Country were undefeated in dual meets. The boys were the Dayton Sectional Champions and finished 9th in the state. Girls finished 6th in the district.
- Battling Beaver football team finished with 6-4 record and 3rd place in the WOL.
- Golf team finished season 12-6.
- The BHS boys soccer team had 11 wins, 2 losses and 3 ties. They finished second place in the WOL.The girls were in their 2nd year of soccer.
- The girls Varsity tennis team placed sixth in the league. They boys tennis team finished the year at 10-5.
- The girls Varsity Volleyball team won 6 games.
- The boys Basketball team won 8 games.
- The girls Basketball team finished the year 12-7 and got the most points in a game (72 vs. Xenia). They tied for 3rd place in the WOL.
- Our class mates on the boys gymnastics team included: Jeff Turner, Jay Hurst, and Jeff Garrett. On the girls team those from our class included: Mindy Bowell, Kathy Cheney and Sue Gordhammer.
- The 1978-79 Wrestling team gave an assembly.
- The Class of '79 had the best baseball season ever at that time with a final record of 18/4.
- The '79 Varisty girls Softball team finished the year with a 6-10 record and finished 5-4 in the WOL.
- The boys track team had an undefeated record throughout the regular season and brought a first place trophy back from WOL back to BHS for the first time since 1969. They placed 2nd at sectionals and 8th at District. Ken Woodruff and Dwayne Johnston went to the State Meet.
- The girls track team tied with Centerville for 1st place and placed 8th at the WOL meet.
- Clubs at BHS included: AFS, JCOWA, Drama, Chess, FCC, the Soccer Sweethearts, Senior IOE, Weasel's Corner, Paper Garden, Debate, Junior Achievement, Student Council, Audio-Visual, FCA, Maranatha, Spirit, Yearbook, Photo
- The BHS Music Department - Friends, Band, A Capella Choir, Concert Choir, Shades of Blue.
- Cheer and Beaverettes!
- Office workers for the main office, library, counselors, etc.
- The Drama department produced 6 of plays during the 78-79 school year under the direction of Drama Teacher, Mrs. Gayle Roche. They included: "Shurbert Alley", "Monster Soup", "My Son the Exorcist", "It's Bigfoot", "Go Ask Alice" and "Monkey House".
- The Music Department put on the musical "Carnival".
